The Different Types Of Countertops We Offer At GMS Werks

As kitchen countertops are used pretty much on a daily basis, it’s essential that your space is functional and in good working order. Are your home’s countertops cracked, damaged or outdated? These are all signs that it may be time to replace your home’s countertops.

With over 100 years of experience working in the countertop industry, we understand how difficult it can be to decide on a perfect countertop material. Below, we go over all of the natural stone countertop options we offer at GMS Werks to help narrow down your choices.

Granite

Out of all the materials we offer, granite is one of our most popular kitchen countertop choices! Granite is known for its unique color and natural beauty, but it also offers so many great advantages other than just design. Granite countertops are hard and durable, and they can withstand many different elements. Granite is scratch and heat-resistant and is very easy to clean and maintain. Essentially, the only maintenance outside of regular cleaning that comes with granite is annual sealing.

Marble

Marble is another popular material that we offer here at GMS Werks. Marble is most commonly known for its unique veining, incredible beauty and luxurious feel. It has been used in building and design for centuries, making it a truly timeless material. On top of its rich veining, the advantages of marble also include longevity, great durability and that it can substantially improve the value of your home!

Quartz

Quartz has become one of the most popular countertop materials in recent years for many great reasons. Quartz is practical. It's easy to maintain, and it resembles the appearance of other natural stone materials.

Quartz is different from all of the materials mentioned on this list, as it is technically engineered rather than natural. Since it’s man-made, it can be made in pretty much any color and any design you wish. On top of that, quartz requires very little maintenance other than cleaning. It is highly durable and a nonporous material, meaning it does not need to be sealed.

Quartzite

Lastly, quartzite is another natural stone countertop material that we offer here at GMS. Not to get confused, quartzite is actually a different material than the  quartz that is mentioned above. Although they sound the same in the name, quartzite is actually 100 percent natural rather than man-made.

Quartzite is a great natural stone countertop material that offers a number of benefits. It is a cost-effective, low-maintenance and highly durable material that will look great in pretty much any design.
