GMS in the Werks: Parkwood

For this week’s blog, we are highlighting a project we just recently finished up at Parkwood Retirement Center located in Shenandoah, Iowa. This project mainly involved hard surfaces, including shower walls, kitchen counters, and bathroom vanities. 

Showers

In this project, we completely renovated the shower walls and trim of the facility. We used one of our favorite porcelain products to do so! The name of the porcelain we used is Macchia Vecchia, and is part of the Mediterraneo Surfaces Collection! This beautiful light colored material really gave the showers a brand new, natural look, as you can see in the transformation photos below! 
 

Bathroom Vanities

Another portion of this project involved redoing the bathroom vanities throughout the facility. We installed 2 cm quartz to all of the master bath and guest bath vanities! The quartz we used is called Calacatta Natura, which is white in color! We used this same material for the laundry counters as well. Using Calacatta Natura quartz in the bathrooms and laundry rooms was the perfect solution as it is very durable and easy to clean! 

 This countertop material is beautiful, and complements the Macchia Vecchia porcelain in the showers very nicely, making the entire bathroom aesthetically pleasing! 

Kitchen Counters

Lastly, we removed and replaced all of the kitchen countertops throughout the facility. For the kitchen counters and islands, we used a polished granite called Luna Pearl. Luna Pearl granite is very hard and resistant to heat and scratches, making it a perfect option for any kitchen! As you can see in the pictures below, this granite choice matched perfectly with the entire kitchen style and looks great with the white tile background. 

Overall, we were ecstatic that this project turned out just as we imagined!
