2022 Tile Trends: Part 2

Back in January, we wrote a blog that highlighted some of this year’s top tile trends. Although many of those trends are still standing 8 months later, new ones have also emerged as the year has progressed. 

As a year, 2022 has been full of changes. Economic fluctuations have heavily affected the housing market, significantly increasing home valuations. However, there are still home improvement projects that will increase your home’s value even more, particularly kitchen and bathroom renovations!

Grid-like / contrasting grout

One tile trend that has become more popular over the past year is grid-like tile that has contrasting grout coloring. When we say this, picture black square tile with white grout. Or white square tile with dark grout. Classic square tiles are a timeless option that seem to never go out of style. By adding contrasting grout color, you can create a “grid-like” design on your floors, walls or wherever else you’d like!

Metallic tiles

Another popular trend, especially in the bathroom, has been metallic tiles. Metallic tiles can add warmth and character to any space, and they come in a variety of colors, shapes and textures. Some of the most popular metallic tile colors are gold, copper, bronze and silver!

Geometric shapes

Geometric shapes have been a growing trend this year, and experts are predicting these tiles to continue becoming more popular as we finish out 2022. From triangles to hexagons, diamonds and more, geometric tiles can add some variety to your home’s design.

Black and white floors

Are you looking at changing up the look of your bathroom floor? Black and white tile floors are one of the biggest bathroom trends this year! Black and white tile floors are not new but more extravagant patterns, shapes and sizes are becoming a very popular trend!

Big tiles

Homeowners are going big with their tile choices in 2022! Large white tiles are becoming a popular choice in kitchens and bathrooms, with some being as large as 10 x 15 feet. With bigger tiles comes smaller (and fewer) grout lines, which can create a cleaner look in whatever space you choose to use it in.

Matte finishes

Lastly, matte finishes are continuing to make their way into many homes across the country. Matte finished tiles feature a soft but powerful style that is never too overwhelming. Matte finished tiles work great as bathroom shower tiles, as they offer a sleek and clean design that can also help hide smudges and watermarks!
