From afar, the Apuan Alps in Northwest Italy might look like they are covered in snowcaps, but that’s not snow you are looking at. The specks of white you see atop of the mountains is actually Carrara marble that has been quarried from the face of these mountains. Quarrying this beautiful marble has been going on for centuries and is the source of many famous sculptures throughout history.

The 2017 color trend predictions are in and they are and attentions grabbing selection of colors. Deep purple (Shadow), greenery, and taupe (Poised Taupe) are this years color trend according to Sherwin Williams, Pantone, and Benjamin Moore. The colors are contrasting, which is making homeowners curious about how to integrate them into their designs. It will be interesting to see how this year's color trend impacts the use of natural stone for homeowners and businesses.

These men are known as “The White Spiders,” “The Angels of Carrara,” or “Tecchiaiolo.”

What adds a seasoned elegance and class to a home or commercial building better than marble? Not much in our opinion. There’s just something about the unique character of marble that is captivating. However, it can be challenging to determine if you are looking at natural marble, man-made marble, or granite.
